Automotive Engraving in South Australia
South Australian riders and owners can have their own components engraved by dealing directly with Phil. The design is worked through together over photographs and conversation, and the automotive engraving is completed personally by Phil at the Forever Milestones workshop in Jamisontown, New South Wales.
There is no Adelaide or South Australian workshop, representative or travelling service. Contact Phil before posting anything so the component and the design can be confirmed.
For Harley-Davidson projects, Phil can generally supply a new, genuine component as part of the agreed project. Customers may also send their own suitable part. Car and other automotive components are generally customer supplied. Every project should be discussed with Phil before a component is purchased, delivered or posted.
The engraving process
Talking the project through before anything is posted
For South Australian customers, the service begins with direct consultation with Phil. You are not filling in an order form. You are describing a component to the person who will engrave it.

Contact Phil first
Start with a call or a message rather than a parcel. Nothing should be posted from South Australia until Phil has assessed the component and confirmed the project.

Describe the component and the result you want
Explain what the component is and supply the exact wording, artwork or design idea you would like Phil to consider.

Supply photographs, wording and artwork
Photographs of the engraving face, an exact list of wording with the spelling you want, and any artwork file or sketch give Phil the detail he needs. You need permission to use any logo or protected design.

Phil assesses suitability and the requested work
He looks at material, finish, thickness and the usable engraving area, then tells you plainly what your component will and will not take.

Send the component once everything is agreed
After suitability and arrangements are confirmed, pack the piece protectively and send it to the Jamisontown workshop using the method you have discussed.

Engraving and quality checking by Phil
Phil carries out the engraving himself and inspects the finished component before it is repacked.

Return delivery is arranged with you
Return delivery back to South Australia is agreed with you directly before the component leaves Jamisontown.

A conversation that does the work of a workshop visit
The Australia-wide automotive engraving service is available to customers in Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Whyalla, Port Augusta and regional South Australia. These are geographic service examples only. Forever Milestones has no Adelaide workshop, local representative or travelling engraving service. All engraving is completed in Jamisontown.
A good remote consultation covers three things: what the component is made of and how it is finished, exactly what the engraving should say, and where on the piece it should sit. Photographs answer the first, a written wording list answers the second, and a marked-up photograph or a quick sketch answers the third.
It is worth being specific about wording. Spelling, capitalisation, dates and line breaks are all confirmed with you in writing before work begins, because they are far easier to settle in conversation than to revisit afterwards.
Getting the component ready to post
- Speak with Phil before packing or sending anything.
- Cover the engraving surface first so nothing can rub against it.
- Use firm padding on all sides rather than loose fill.
- Pick a box with room for padding rather than a tight fit.
- Ask Phil whether fittings, gaskets or hardware should remain attached.
- Include your name and contact details inside the parcel and on the outside.
- Keep any tracking information you are given until the component is back with you.
This guidance applies only when you supply and post a component. It is general guidance to help protect your component in transit. Delivery, insurance and any cover for items in transit are matters between you and the delivery service you choose.

- Because the assessment happens before the parcel, not after it. Speaking first means the material, the layout and the wording are settled, you know the project can proceed, and you avoid sending a component that turns out not to suit the engraving you had in mind.
