Forever Automotive Custom Engraving

Automotive Engraving in the ACT

Customers in Canberra and throughout the ACT can have their own motorcycle and automotive components engraved by working with Phil remotely. The automotive engraving is completed personally by Phil at the Forever Milestones workshop in Jamisontown, New South Wales, on components supplied by the customer.

There is no Canberra workshop, representative or mobile engraving service. Contact Phil before sending or delivering anything so the project can be confirmed.

For Harley-Davidson projects, Phil can generally supply a new, genuine component as part of the agreed project. Customers may also send their own suitable part. Car and other automotive components are generally customer supplied. Every project should be discussed with Phil before a component is purchased, delivered or posted.

The engraving process

How an ACT enquiry is handled from start to finish

Careful project planning happens before the component is sent or delivered. For ACT customers, that stage is handled by message, phone and photographs.

  1. 1

Get in touch before the component moves

Contact Phil first, whether you intend to post the component or deliver it yourself. Nothing should be packed or driven anywhere until the project is confirmed.

  2. 2

Describe the component and the engraving

Explain what the component is and supply the exact wording, artwork or design idea you would like Phil to consider.

  3. 3

Supply photographs, artwork or design ideas

Photographs of the engraving face, an exact wording list and any artwork file or sketch give Phil what he needs to assess the job. You need permission to use any logo or protected design.

  4. 4

    Phil assesses the individual component

Material, finish, thickness and the usable engraving area determine what is achievable, and Phil tells you honestly what your part will and will not take.

  5. 5

Send or deliver only after arrangements are agreed

Once suitability is confirmed, either pack the component protectively and post it to Jamisontown, or arrange a drop-off time with Phil directly if you would prefer to bring it in person.

  6. 6

Engraving and quality checking by Phil

The engraving is carried out personally by Phil in Jamisontown, and the finished component is inspected before it is repacked or set aside for collection.

  7. 7

Return delivery or collection is arranged

Return delivery to the ACT, or a collection time at the workshop, is agreed with you before the component leaves the bench.

Components considered

Components ACT customers can raise

  • Derby covers

Derby covers can be discussed with Phil, with suitability confirmed for the individual cover before anything is sent or delivered.

  • Timing covers

Timing covers may be considered after Phil has assessed the specific component and the engraving requested.

  • Reflector inserts

Reflector inserts can form part of an enquiry. What is achievable depends on the individual item and the design discussed.

  • Other components

Other motorcycle and automotive components are assessed individually. Confirm suitability with Phil before the component leaves the ACT.

This is not a complete list, and it is not a guarantee that a given part can be engraved. For Harley-Davidson projects, Phil can generally supply a new, genuine component as part of the agreed project. Car and other automotive components are generally supplied by the customer.

Canberra and the wider ACT

Remote by default, in person only by arrangement

The service is available to customers in Canberra and throughout the ACT. Forever Milestones has no Canberra premises, local representative or mobile engraving service. The Jamisontown workshop is a New South Wales location and must not be presented as a local Canberra service.

ACT customers may post an eligible component or ask Phil whether personal drop-off at Jamisontown can be arranged. All visits and drop-offs must be organised with Phil beforehand. Visits are by appointment, so a suitable time must be agreed with Phil before travelling to Jamisontown.

Whichever way the component travels, the assessment comes first. Photographs of the engraving face, the exact wording you want and a note about placement let Phil confirm the project before you commit to the trip or the postage.

If you are posting the component

  • Speak with Phil before packing, posting or driving anything down.
  • Protect the engraving surface before anything else touches it.
  • Use firm padding on every side rather than loose fill.
  • Choose a box with room for padding around the component.
  • Ask Phil whether fittings, gaskets or hardware should remain attached.
  • Include your name and contact details inside the parcel as well as outside.
  • Keep any tracking information you are given until the piece is back with you.

This guidance applies only when you supply and post a component. It is general guidance to help protect your component in transit. Delivery, insurance and any cover for items in transit are matters between you and the delivery service you choose.

Questions

ACT engraving questions

Do I need to send my component to Phil?
Not always. For Harley-Davidson projects, Phil can generally supply a new, genuine component as part of the agreed project. You may also provide your own suitable part. Car and other automotive components are generally supplied by the customer.
Does Forever Milestones have a Canberra workshop?
No. The only workshop is at 24 Ikin Street, Jamisontown NSW 2750. There are no Forever Milestones premises in Canberra, no ACT representative and no mobile engraving service. Jamisontown is a New South Wales workshop that ACT customers can send components to, not a local Canberra service.
How can ACT customers use the service?
The project is discussed remotely first. You describe the component and the engraving you want, supply photographs, and Phil assesses the individual piece. Once suitability and arrangements are confirmed, the component is sent to Jamisontown, engraved personally by Phil and returned by an arrangement agreed with you.
Can I drop the component off at Jamisontown myself?
Personal drop-off can be arranged, but it must be organised with Phil beforehand rather than assumed. The workshop is not open for unannounced visits, so contact him first and agree a time before making the drive from the ACT.
What components may be considered?
Derby covers, timing covers, reflector inserts and other motorcycle and automotive components can be discussed. Each item is assessed on its own material, finish and usable engraving area, so suitability is confirmed for your specific part.
What do I need to request a quote?
A description of the component and what it came off, the wording or artwork you would like engraved, an idea of where it should sit on the piece, and clear photographs of that surface. Phil will come back to you about what is achievable.
