Forever Automotive Custom Engraving
Harley Derby Cover Engraving Australia
Phil generally supplies new, genuine Harley-Davidson derby and timing covers, then custom engraves them with artwork developed for the rider and the bike. Customers may also provide their own suitable component.
Forever Milestones is an independent engraving business and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Harley-Davidson. Customer-supplied components are confirmed as suitable before anything is posted.

Why riders customise covers
Reasons riders engrave derby and timing covers
A defined surface for custom engraving
Derby and timing covers are among the motorcycle components Phil may consider for custom engraving, whether he supplies the genuine part or you provide your own. The usable area, requested layout and suitability are assessed on the individual component.
The rider wants the bike to be unmistakably theirs
A name, a call sign, a club emblem, a date or a piece of personal artwork turns a factory component into something no one else is running.
A build deserves a matching detail
Riders finishing a long build may want the covers and inserts to carry the same motif as the rest of the bike.
The cover marks something that matters
Service, a memorial, a milestone ride or a family name may all be the subject of a custom engraving project. Phil treats those projects with the care they deserve.
Off-the-shelf covers all look the same
Catalogue parts repeat. An individually created design is drawn for your component and your bike rather than reproduced from a pattern library.
The rider is not local
Riders across Australia work with Phil at a distance. He can generally supply the genuine component, or you can arrange to send your own once suitability has been confirmed.
Components included
The parts these projects cover
Harley derby covers
Phil can generally supply a new, genuine derby cover as part of the agreed project, or engrave the cover you already own. Either way the design is created for that exact part.
Timing covers
Timing covers can be engraved alongside a derby cover so the primary side of the bike reads as one design.
Reflector inserts
Reflector inserts may also be discussed as part of a custom engraving enquiry. Suitability and the available engraving area are assessed on the individual item.
Related eligible motorcycle components
Other motorcycle components can be assessed individually. Material, finish, thickness and usable engraving area all decide what is possible.
- Genuine Harley-Davidson derby and timing covers can generally be supplied for agreed projects.
- Your own suitable component is equally welcome and assessed individually.
- Suitability is assessed before anything is sent.
- Contact Phil before buying or posting any component.
- Finishing options depend on the particular component.

Adapting a design to the component
A layout drawn for your cover, not a template
Every cover has a different usable area. Pricing depends on the component, the design and the engraving required, so each project is quoted individually once Phil has seen photographs.

Completed component prepared for dispatch
- 1
The component decides the canvas
Phil measures the usable engraving area of the actual cover or insert before any layout is drawn. Bolt holes, recesses, curves and raised edges are all worked around.
- 2
Your artwork, photographs or ideas are the starting point
Supplied artwork, logos, photographs, wording or a rough hand sketch can all be adapted. You must have permission to use any logo or protected design.
- 3
Scale and placement are set deliberately
Lettering size, line breaks and the position of the design are chosen so the finished cover reads clearly once it is back on the bike.
- 4
Finishing suits the particular component
Engraving depth and finishing options are assessed for the specific component and agreed with you, rather than promised in advance.
- 5
Phil engraves and checks the part himself
The same person who discussed the project with you carries out the engraving and inspects the finished component before it is packed or handed back.

Australia-wide automotive engraving
Keep the Original. Make It Personal.
For riders who prefer a genuine Harley-Davidson component, Phil can supply the agreed part as part of the engraving project. This can be especially practical for interstate customers who would otherwise need to post an existing component to Jamisontown. Customer-supplied parts are also welcome and are assessed individually before work begins.
- 1
Contact Phil before buying or posting anything
Describe the cover or insert, the bike it belongs to, the engraving you have in mind and any deadline. Nothing should be bought or sent before this conversation.
- 2
Confirm the component, quote and payment
Phil can generally supply a new, genuine derby or timing cover, or assess the component you already own for material, finish, thickness and usable engraving area. Payment is required before artwork, setup and design work begins.
- 3
Artwork and customer proof
Phil prepares the artwork and supplies a proof before engraving begins. Any requested alterations are assessed individually.
- 4
Drop off or post your own component if you are supplying it
Local riders drop the part off at Jamisontown by arrangement. Interstate riders supplying their own component pack it protectively and send it using the method agreed with Phil.
- 5
Engraving, finishing and quality checking
Phil engraves, finishes and checks the component himself at the Jamisontown workshop.
- 6
Collection or delivery
Collect the finished cover from Jamisontown by arrangement, including an after-hours appointment where available, or arrange delivery of the completed item.

Questions
Derby and timing cover questions
- Do I need to send my component to Phil?
- Not always. For Harley-Davidson projects, Phil can generally supply a new, genuine component as part of the agreed project. You may also provide your own suitable part. Car and other automotive components are generally supplied by the customer.
- Can I send my Harley parts from interstate?
- Yes, if you are supplying the component. Eligible components can be sent from anywhere in Australia after the project, packing and return-delivery arrangements have been discussed with Phil. If Phil supplies the agreed genuine part, posting one may not be necessary.
- Can derby covers, timing covers and reflector inserts use a matching design?
- They can be discussed as a coordinated project. What is possible depends on the size, material, finish and usable engraving area of each component.
- Are you affiliated with Harley-Davidson?
- No. Forever Milestones is an independent engraving workshop. References to Harley-Davidson describe the customer-owned components Phil works on and do not indicate an official partnership or endorsement.
